I've been a Nascar fan since 2 years old, and continue to like a lot
Nascar racing. I have been involved in racing since I was a small kid,
I went to my first race at 1 and a half month old, and been following
racing since then. My involvement in racing was because of my dad
racing touring cars here in Mexico, he has won more than 7
championships and a little more of 100 races in various classes here
in Mexico. Since last year he retired, (but kept racing some races)
and has been busy directing his team. Now I'm helping him out in his
team, I'm his Data Acquisition Guy. We have won the championship 3
times in the last 4 years (2001- Champion, Nahum Olin Sr, 2002-2nd
place, Nahum Olin Sr, 2003-Champion, Eugenio Martin del Campo,
2004-Champion, Ricardo Perez de Lara).
I started racing on 2002, 80cc Shifter, and placed 3rd in the National
Championship, despite not racing the first 2 races. I won in just my
2nd race, and had one second and two third place podiums. I raced for
Herdez Competition
in 2003; I just ran 2 races, because of lack of money. I had a couple
of tests in Renault Clio cup cars.
2004, I didn't race. I was my team's Data Acquisition Guy. We won the
championship.
This year, I was hoping to get back into racing, but, until now, I
haven't been able to return to race. Mainly because my dad is very busy
with his own team, and he cant help me.
We have switched this year to the NASCAR Mexico Championship, where we
race with cars similar to the ARCA from USA. Nextel sponsors us. The
Nascar Mexico (or Desafio Corona) is the biggest championship here in
Mexico, and the cars are pretty fast. In the Mexico City Race, our
Pole Position was just 3 seconds behind (90.254 secs the Nascar Mexico
Pole, 87.696 secs the Busch pole)
I've been racing with Nascar 4 since 2000, racing in arcade settings.
I leaved it until 2005, where I installed it again, and started racing
online.
I hope to get some good friends here online, and, hopefully, when I
get a good setup (I don't have time during the week for testing, nor I
know to much of how to set up a car) I can challenge for a podium.
